A few months ago during a particular afternoon at my internship, the guys from Studio Mals asked me what I have always wanted to build if I had the skills or materials. My answer was stated quickly: I would want to build a lighthouse. At Mals they gave me the opportunity to actually bring that lighthouse to life, in their workshop during work hours. During this process I got to experience the world of crafting. I build the lighthouse from scratch.
A little peek behind the scènes …
Building this lighthouse gave me inspiration to create more by hand and to make crafting a big part of my graduation project. I really like the imperfections of the used materials: I personally thinks this adds character to the object.
