Vraauwlu
Vraauwlu is a book of Sanne Meijer and Iris van den Brand, telling stories of Groninger women in history which have had a part in changing the future for women.
This story is told through walk- and bike routes through city and country, exploring Groningen through the eyes of these women while gaining insight in their stories.

Sanne and Iris asked me to design their entire book, giving colour to the text and bring the archive material to life in a fitting design. This 380 paged hard-cover book has been presented in der Aa-Kerk in Groningen on the 28th of October.
Thanks to Sanne, Iris and Uitgeverij Passage for having faith in me and my designs!
Hardcover book
Through the book I’ve worked with coloured chapters, creating a rainbow on the side of the book, making it easy finding your way back to a certain chapter.
I used several paper textures as backdrops giving the book a vintage look.

380 unique pages
dipped in one-of-a-kind paper textures and topped of with unique,
cut-out archive images.
By combining illustrations, archive material and graphic elements I’ve created a way to shape the design for this book! It has become a mixture between modern and vintage. I’m really pleased with the outcome!
